In 2021 Symphony exited its interest in a luxury villa in Phuket which had formed part of the settlement in 2020 for a structured loan transaction made in 2014.

In 2006, we made an initial investment in four high-end residential apartments in a premier residential and real-estate development in Macau, One Central Residences. We completed the sale of the final apartment in 2012.

SG Land is a joint venture between Symphony and an established Thai property development company, and owns the leasehold rights to two office buildings – SG Tower and Millenia Tower - in Bangkok, Thailand. These buildings, in prime downtown Bangkok locations, have high occupancy rates and offer attractive rental yields.

Symphony has invested in a joint venture with an affiliate of Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels Sdn Bhd, an investment subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the investment arm of the Government of Malaysia. The joint venture has developed a resort that comprises a beach-front country club and villas next to two championship golf courses on the south-east coast of Malaysia. Our 49% interest in the venture will enable us to capitalise on the increasing demand in the Asia-Pacific region for luxury real estate, and will also diversify our current investment portfolio.

In 2011, Symphony invested in a property development joint venture that acquired two hotels in the internationally renowned winter-sports and year-round vacation destination of Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. At the end of 2019, the Niseko Property Joint Venture (“NPJV”), entered into an agreement for a partial sale of Niseko. The transaction involved a partial sale of land and a new joint-venture to co-develop another part of the land with Hanwha Hotels & Resorts.

Minuet is a joint-venture real estate investment with an established Thai partner, who brings local knowledge and real-estate expertise to the project. The investment is a holding of approximately 40 hectares of land in Bangkok, Thailand. We have a direct 49% interest in the project, and we will continue to consider development and, or, sale options for the land holding.
